Amy Was Brilliant (28th July)

Amy Belle was in brilliant form in Scotch Corner last night, she played her heart out and I am pround to announce she is our first artist to be asked for an autograph, there was a queue, I was in it, but she knocked me back, she said I was trying to get her to sign away her fee for the night. !!., anyway, she was in truly great form and we look forward to seeing her next Saturday night.

The Last Skinnydippers Gig

Tonight is the night.

I’m sad to say a truly inspiring Duo who have built up a faithful following over many years are finally parting ways, Gerry is going to Spain and Micheal is going to pieces (only kidding !).

Tonight is the last gig they will play under the name of the Skinnydippers, I’m sure we will see Gerry regulary in the years to come however, an era ends tonight.

I’d like to say ‘free swally for all, aw night’ but I won’t.   Instead I’ll say ‘awa an bile yir heid’,  there I feel better for that.

Anyway I’ll be there to see them and I know many others will too, here’s to a great night and not too many tears and snotters………………..

Whats On & Coming Soon

Monday:- ‘Yir Bard’

A new Writer’s and Poets night will be hosted EACH WEEK by Joe Meade and Ian Adie. Joe, who launches his first novel soon is well known in publishing circles, he is also the founder of www.1stchapters.com. Over the week’s we will be bringing in famous, well known and new writers and poets. We will create workshops, hold competitions and publish a yearly book of Scotch Corner Poems and Stories. Every reading in the pub will be copied and put on the website, unless it’s crap or inappropriate.

Tuesday:- Quiz Night

A really entertaining quiz night will begin in early August each and every Tuesday. The format will be new and will feature both questions and music.

Wednesday:- Ladies Night

The pub has been asked by some of the regular girls for a traditional ‘Ladies Night’, once again the format will be new and entertaining, talks are underway with the ‘girls’ and it will be announced very soon.

Thursday:- Live Music on the ‘Acoustic Stage’

Friday:- DB2 Live, Chris and John from Dr Bliss perform an outstanding Acoustic set.

Saturday:- Amy (We Love Her) Belle, catch her before she becomes famous.

Sunday:- The Skinnydippers legendary and unmissable

Amy Belle Live

Amy Belle - the sensational Scottish singer has made a big impact on the Scotch Corner’s Acoustic Stage.

22 year old Amy was discovered ‘on the streets of Glasgow’ by Rod Stewart, and appeared with him live on stage at the Albert Hall in London. Together they played Rod’s song I don’t want to talk about it, which was a hit for him in 1979.

Amy’s brings in a big crowd to see her perform so much so she was featured in the Evening Times, see her every Saturday before she leaves for the Big-Time !……
